Seniors Week and My Aged Care

Seniors Week 2017 was celebrated in the High Country with a shared meal enjoyed by a group of 20 participants at the Hilltop Hotel at Omeo on Thursday 12 October.

The event was organised by Benambra Neighbourhood House, with support from East Gippsland Shire Council.

Omeo District Health provided a guest speaker Marijs Last, Community Care Manager who gave an informative presentation about the changes to community based support services including the My Aged Care System.

My Aged Care is the System that has been introduced by the Commonwealth Government to provide uniform access and information regarding support services for older people including: Home Support Services, Home Care Packages and access to Residential Aged Care.
